Gatorade Ultimate All-Star Please Do NOT Slam US #31

The 2012 NBA Season is officially over. Or should we say, the screaming, nagging, and our heartfelt emotions on this season is over. Our deepest congratulations to the Miami Heat team headed by Filipino-American, Mr. Erik Spoelstra. Congratulations too to Mr. James as he finally gets what he deserves after, well, ten years worth of ions lost and replaced, literally.

We have been quite on the tollgate as we wait for our entry to be in the Gatorade Ultimate All-Star Slam. It will give us a chance to win an all-expense paid VIP trip to the 2013 NBA All-Star Weekend in Houston, Texas. How cool is that? All we need to do is buy specially-marked Gatorade bottles, text in the promo code, and wait for the weekly raffle draws.
To Join:
Text Gatorade to 2600
Promo Period: May to June 30, 2012
Prizes:
-All-expense paid trip to watch NBA All-Star 2013
-Toby's Gift Certificates

Our main concern is that, not every store has bottles with codes in it. Our bottles made us subscribe but could not let us enter the codes. Gracious! Keeping our fingers crossed that we will not be playing only.

Durian: Everybody's King #30

Durian Garden, Atbp. (at iba pa) or “and others” is a three-hectare farm and home of the tastiest durian “the king of all fruits” that goes with the ever-popular saying, smells like hell but taste like heaven.
This orchard is different from other durian farms because it harvests a year-around and durian trees yields an average of 40-50 fruits or an annual farm harvest of 10,000 pieces. We need to really watch out for falling durians! Each fruits are sold Php50.00 per kilo (kg) with the weighing of 4-5 kg each (source:  DGatbp)
The durian orchard is also where one can enjoy Pomelo, Lanzones and Rambutan trees that are mixed with flowering ornamental plants. An animal sanctuary is also beside these growing flora.

They also have a restaurant that produces home-made pies and ice cream with different flavors such as mango, jackfruit, ube and durian.

It is quite obvious that someone does enjoy it very much!
 Yum!

Lake Lake Sebu's Tilapia Kingdom #29

When you decided to visit Lake Sebu, South Cotabato, and you are looking for endless adventure you should visit this place. Lake Sebu or Lake Lake is the name of the municipality, which entices everybody of the endless bountiful tilapia from the seven lakes and the zipline. Since it was raining we opted to have the boating. Tilapia is the major source of livelihood of the T’boli’s which they grow in the lake. Other sources of livelihood are brassware, wood carving and cloth weaving, more popularly known as “T’nalak".

Punta Isla is overlooking Lake Sebu wherein you can taste a variety of  tilapia  delicacies from kinilaw, sinugbang tilapia,  spicy fillet, tilapora and a lot more.

Also, when  taking meals, we could either eat  in the floating restaurant or in the hilltop.  A floating restaurant is a nice option during lunch, plus  there are young T’bolis performing their different danced and musical instruments.  The restaurant in the hilltop is a nice spot to see the panoramic of the Lake Sebu and a lot of tilapia breeding nets.  Tourists really love the place because of its peaceful ambience and relaxation effect.

This lake resort has  rooms and cottages good for couples, families and groups. The basic amenities  are available in every room. There is also a souvenir shop  with native handicraft products display for a very reasonable price.   Although the facilities are not that world-class, but in terms of hospitality,  you will never get wrong  when picking this resort. Where life indeed blends with nature at its best. No wonder why Ms. Melivo loves tilapias.

Blugré Durian DulcePuccinos #28

Blugré Coffee offers a snug and unique Davao coffee experience, but since we were at General Santos, we tried it as we took the cut at the Team Pacquiao store. We just knew that they are just franchisees but if you are a mainstay at the coffee joint, no wonder you will be rubbing elbows with either, Mr. Pac or Ms. Jink. You will surely not find Ms. D here because she is busy with her ballroom grooves at a certain resto.

We are not really Durian fans (obviously) and that is a big challenge for us since we made Mindanao our dream. But what makes Blugré Coffee distinctively Davao is the Gatchalian’s use of exotic durian fruit in their menu. The winner Durian Dulce de Leche Cheesecake should be partnerned with their trademark Durian Gatchpuccino (espresso+durian rolled into steam). But we were mesmerized with the cold version, Durian Larcepuccino. We will never look at durian the same way again. It is dubbed after all as the “King of All Coffees” while the obvious Durian is still the “King of All Fruits”.

We were really lucky to have the chance to enjoy this. Thank You again to, Mr. M and Ms. A, we hope you enjoyed your Penong’s fruit salad. See you guys again and we will be ziplining all the way.

PiYESta sa Gen San #27

General Santos is not on the verge of feasting most especially their pride Mr.  Emmanuel Dapidran (Pac-Man) Pacquiao lost to Mr. Bradley. We were not in good vibes too since there was no Tuna Panga (Tuna Jaw) available at Penong’s and the Celtics were eliminated. Ms. A’s good friend, Mr. M, offered to check if it is available at Piyesta at Robinson’s. He placed an order as we went there after ordering to the hospitable people who searched places for Panga.

We entered PiYESta! KTV and Restobar and added Tuna Marlin which we still had no idea where that came from. Everything started to be good when they served brown rice, better the herbed Tuna Marlin, and the crunchy Tuna Panga. Life is so good.

We were given complimentary KTV hours but since we were on the move we passed but surely will give it a go when we come back. Thank You, Mr. M and Ms. A.
